David Ozoh will be sidelined until the next international break due to a new injury setback, according to Paul Warne.
After recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during the victory over Cardiff, the Crystal Palace midfielder on loan was scheduled to workout this week.
However, he injured his quadriceps muscle in his final practice before his scheduled return, which is a serious setback for Derby and the midfield player.
Since leaving the Eagles in the summer, Ozoh has had a strong start to the season, and Warne said the player was naturally disappointed by the most recent development.
His words were, “He’s had a setback,” “On Tuesday, I was vaguely aware of it, but I was unaware of how serious it was. It wasn’t time, and I wasn’t going to come out and say it after the game.
Since it was his last day with the physical team before he was scheduled to practice with the squad today, it is regrettable that he has injured his quad.
“It is certain that we will not see him before to the upcoming international break. That is a huge blow. He is sad since we will have been without him for two and a half months by the time he returns.
“He’s had a really good start and it shows how far the team has come because while he’s been missing, the team have been performing.”
