Real Madrid make £35k-a-week Everton player an ‘important target’ for Janaury transfer window
Sun 10 November 2024 19:30
Everton are already plotting their January transfer business.
With The Toffees languishing near the relegation zone, it’s evident further reinforcement are needed this winter.
That said, Everton are interested in signing Tariq Lamptey from Brighton, though, they face competition from Serie A giants Juventus.
Sunderland’s Chris Rigg is also admired by Everton but again it’s a similar story, as Manchester United and Liverpool are keen on the teenage sensation.
So it looks set to be a challenging window for Sean Dyche and his recruitment team and not just in terms of incomings.
It’s just come to light that Real Madrid are taking an interest in an Everton player.

Real Madrid eye Jarrad Branthwaite
Jarrad Branthwaite is arguably Everton’s best player and that was made evident in the summer when Manchester United tabled a £50m bid for him in the summer.
The Toffees rejected that offer outright as they demanded around £75m for their prized asset, who they bought from Carlisle United as a teenager.

Now, Real Madrid are showing an interest in Branthwaite ahead of the January transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.
In fact, the report claims that Real have made him an ‘important target’ along with Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero.
With the Friedkin Group set to take over Everton before the new year, perhaps their financial influence will help the club bat off any forthcoming bids.

Everton absolutely have to keep Branthwaite
Whilst Branthwaite has been injured, Everton have shipped far more goals this season which shows just how important he is.
In fact, if they were to lose him in January, it’d make them relegation favourites in the eyes of many, so they shouldn’t entertain any offers.
Instead, club chiefs must attempt to tie him down to a new deal – with his current one expiring in the summer of 2027.
Branthwaite, who currently earns around £35k-a-week (per Capology), is the future of Everton football club.

Everton held West Ham United to a goalless draw in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees had to rely on Jordan Pickford’s heroics to hold onto a point, which keeps them in 16th place heading into the international break.

Everton battled hard and Idrissa Gueye really stood out against The Hammers but there wasn’t much quality in attack.
Iliman Ndiaye was the only bright spark for Everton as there was little coming from out-of-form striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
With that said, a big accusation has just come to light about Calvert-Lewin which Troy Deeney has validated.

Claim that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is ignoring Everton fans
Speaking on talkSPORT ahead of kick-off [9 November, 13:55], Groves said Calvert-Lewin is not giving his best during matches, and also ignoring fans.
Adrian Durham reacted to the verdict, saying: “I’ve got Troy Deeney nodding away here. Troy, that’s quite an accusation. That’s what Perry said, he’s not giving his all. Is that a fair accusation? Could he give more?”
‘
Deeney answered: “That’s what it looks like. I saw him against Ipswich, and he missed some massive chances. And I thought something that was really key was he didn’t acknowledge the fans.
“He didn’t acknowledge the fans, didn’t say anything to his teammates, went straight down the tunnel.”
Everton fans have been calling for Calvert-Lewin to be dropped for Beto, so perhaps the West Ham clash was his final opportunity.
Dyche admitted before the game that Beto was closing the gap on the 27-year-old.

Everton should allow Calvert-Lewin to go amid Newcastle interest
Calvert-Lewin just hasn’t been delivering for Everton over the last couple of seasons and with his contract due to expire next summer, it makes sense to move him on for a fee in January.
Newcastle remain interested in Calvert-Lewin after their attempts to sign him during the summer, so if they return with an offer this winter, Everton should accept it.
Beto and Armando Broja are decent options but they’d need to go out and sign a replacement, with AC Milan’s Tammy Abraham the ideal successor to Calvert-Lewin.
Abraham was linked to Goodison Park earlier this year, so clearly Dyche is an admirer of the former Chelsea frontman.
