Jordan James, a rising talent from Birmingham City, has reached a decision amidst a competitive situation between Wolves and West Ham. Despite being just 19 years old, he’s already made it clear that he intends to leave Birmingham City this summer, especially following the team’s disappointing relegation from the Championship to League One. Jordan, who has already earned 10 caps for Wales, has attracted significant interest from Atalanta as well as several Premier League clubs.
Even if Birmingham had managed to avoid relegation, Jordan would have still sought a move to further his career. While Birmingham has played a crucial role in his development, the current circumstances dictate a departure, especially with numerous teams eager to secure his services.
The interest in Jordan’s talents isn’t new; Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace have been monitoring him closely over the past two transfer windows, and their interest is expected to persist into the upcoming summer. Additionally, West Ham United and Leicester City have joined the chase, with managers Julen Lopetegui and the Foxes looking to bolster their squads.
Birmingham previously rejected three offers for Jordan during the winter transfer window, including a £4 million bid from Atalanta. Despite his desire to move to Bergamo, Birmingham refused to let him go, knowing his importance to their survival chances. However, with relegation now confirmed, Birmingham’s ability to retain Jordan has diminished along with their status in the second tier.
Jordan, who hails from Hereford but has been nurtured through Birmingham’s academy, has amassed 105 senior appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists. Notably, eight of those goals came in the most recent campaign.
