Sheffield United moving fast for 12-goal Luton Town Beast | Confirmed

Sheffield United is reportedly eyeing a summer move for Luton Town’s John McAtee, who has impressed during his loan spell at League One side Barnsley, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists in 39 appearances.

With Barnsley fighting for promotion, McAtee’s performances have caught the attention of several clubs, including Sheffield United. Despite their struggles in the Premier League this season, the Blades are preparing for a potential return to the Championship and see McAtee as a player who could bolster their squad for the upcoming campaign.

The interest from Sheffield United comes amidst McAtee turning down offers from Championship clubs during the January transfer window, including Ipswich Town and Sunderland, who were both vying for his signature.

Although Sheffield United hopes to secure McAtee’s services, they also face competition for his younger brother, James McAtee, currently on loan from Manchester City. Additionally, Championship leaders Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing James McAtee.

As the season comes to a close, McAtee will aim to help Barnsley secure a top-six finish in League One, with their final game against Northampton Town looming large.
