Regis Le Bris shares Sunderland injury update with one player now ‘available’ to face Derby County

Regis Le Bris has provided a positive injury update ahead of Sunderland’s match against Derby County. Sunderland will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Watford, which marked two consecutive away losses for the team. The midfield played a significant role in the loss, with Jobe Bellingham and 17-year-old Chris Rigg both underperforming after high expectations.

Captain Dan Neil was also off his game, conceding a penalty that led to Watford’s win. Despite the disappointment, Sunderland fans will be encouraged by the news that Alan Browne is set to return to the squad. Le Bris confirmed Browne’s availability, stating: “Browne is available for the two games. Mayenda and Ballard back after the international break.”

The return of Browne is timely, especially after Neil’s difficult performance, and will help keep the squad fresh. Ballard’s and Mayenda’s upcoming returns will also bolster the team, offering more competition in key positions.

Sunderland remains second in the Championship table, and while they have had a strong start to the season, some squad rotation could prevent burnout moving forward.
