Ex-FIFA official rages after Aston Villa v Ipswich Town controversy, ‘Pulling my hair out’

Noel Egan, a former FIFA official, expressed disbelief after Ipswich Town’s Sam Morsy was not sent off during the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa. Egan, speaking to *Villa News*, pointed out that Morsy should have received a second yellow card for fouling Jaden Philogene, having already been booked. Egan was further baffled by a prior challenge where Morsy stamped on Youri Tielemans’ foot, which also should have resulted in a second booking. According to Egan, the referee made a mistake, as these challenges could have seriously injured a player.
