Nuno Santo Transfer Flop Now Opens Up on Wolves Exit and Explains ‘Difficult’ Problems He Faced

A former Wolves player has shed light on his departure in 2023 and discussed his plans for the future.

Wolves have undergone significant changes since Nuno Santo’s early reign, when he guided the club back to the Premier League and brought in some of the biggest names to play at Molineux. Among them was Leonardo Campana, a young Ecuadorian forward signed in 2020, who struggled to make an impact.

Campana, now playing for Inter Miami, reflected on his time at Wolves. Despite the club’s success in 2020, he found it hard to break into a squad that included stars like Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore, and Diogo Jota. Sent out on loan to gain experience, Campana never made a first-team appearance for Wolves, ultimately parting ways in 2023.

The striker, now 24, shared that injuries and competition for places made his time at Wolves challenging. However, he is grateful for his new chapter at Inter Miami, where he has regained confidence and set his sights on a potential return to European football. Despite the tough experience, Campana holds no ill feelings towards Wolves and hopes to continue his career growth.
