West Brom star just had his worst game of the season vs Boro
West Bromwich Albion lost their spot at the top of the Championship as Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough secured a narrow 1-0 victory at the Hawthorns.
The match wasn’t action-packed, but Hayden Hackney calmly slotted home late in the game, sealing the win for the visitors.
West Brom had several underperformers on the night, marking a second consecutive defeat for Carlos Corberan’s side, who had previously led the division.
The attackers struggled, managing just one shot on target. Captain Jed Wallace and Karlan Grant were particularly below par, with Wallace only completing 14 accurate passes and Grant failing to complete a single dribble from four attempts.
Darnell Furlong, usually a reliable player, had another poor showing, losing possession 16 times after his own goal in the previous match against Sheffield Wednesday.
However, Josh Maja’s performance stood out as the most disappointing, as he never managed to get into the game.
