West Ham may be clinging at straws in hopes of securing European football next season, but Premier League results appear to have gone our way this evening.
With the Hammers chasing Newcastle United for seventh place, the Magpies went to Selhurst Park only to suffer the same fate as West Ham, losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace.
It would still take a miracle for David Moyes to win a fourth consecutive season of European football next season, especially as Eddie Howe’s Newcastle club still has a game in hand. However, after Chelsea’s crushing defeat at the hands of Arsenal yesterday, there is still a ray of optimism.
Moyes will need to overcome Klopp’s Liverpool this Saturday.
West Ham host Liverpool at the London Stadium on Saturday in what would typically be a difficult game. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side has harmed their title ambitions with a 2-0 setback to Everton in the Merseyside derby, and they must now fly to London for the early kick-off.
Grasping at straws? Maybe, but the results appear to have gone in our favor.
