Brighton versus Manchester City Injury Update: One Player Doubtful & Nine Players Ruled Out of Premier League Showdown, Including Haaland

Manchester City will be facing Brighton & Hove Albion with just one player uncertain for the match at the Amex Stadium.

Pep Guardiola, during Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, confirmed that Erling Haaland will be absent from Manchester City’s lineup for their upcoming fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Despite hopes for his return following his absence in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea last weekend, Guardiola affirmed that the Norwegian striker won’t be participating at the Amex, indicating that Julian Alvarez will likely retain his position up front.

On a brighter note, Guardiola provided positive updates regarding John Stones and Phil Foden, stating that both players will be fit and available for Thursday’s Premier League encounter despite missing training earlier in the week. This suggests that Haaland will be the sole absentee for Manchester City.

However, the same cannot be said for Brighton, as the south-coast club will be without eight players leading up to the match. Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that Pervis Estupinan and Evan Ferguson will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injuries, a fate shared by Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma.

Additionally, Tariq Lamptey, Billy Gimour, James Milner, and Jack Hinshelwood will also be unavailable, while Julio Enciso remains a doubt ahead of the game. Enciso, who scored his most recent goal for Brighton in this fixture last season, has been sidelined for the majority of the campaign with a knee injury.

However, there was a glimmer of positivity from De Zerbi’s press conference as he announced that Adam Webster is back in contention. The center-back, who hasn’t featured since the beginning of March, is now an option for De Zerbi.

In Summary: Doubtful: Enciso (Brighton). Out: Lamptey, Estupinan, March, Hinshelwood, Gilmour, Milner, Mitoma, Ferguson (Brighton); Haaland (Manchester City).
