Aston Villa Agree Deal for New Signing, According to Insider Report.

Aston Villa are eager to offer Morgan Rogers a lucrative contract extension following his impressive start to the season, according to the club’s former scout.

Mick Brown, a former senior scout at Villa Park who remains well-connected at the club and also served as the chief scout at Manchester United, exclusively told Football Insider that the 22-year-old has become a key part of Unai Emery’s plans, showing some of the qualities that made Jack Grealish so special at Villa.

This comes after Football Insider reported that Villa have set aside funds for contract extensions, with Rogers near the top of their list of priorities.

Rogers has started all 11 Premier League games and all four Champions League matches this season, earning a spot in the latest England squad. Now, Villa are keen to reward his performances by securing his future at Villa Park with a new contract.

Brown emphasized that the midfielder shares similarities with Grealish, as he is willing to take on the ball and drive the team forward.

This ability has become crucial to Villa’s style of play, adding a dynamic edge that they would otherwise lack.

Aston Villa to hand Morgan Rogers new deal after England call-up

Brown previously told Football Insider that Villa were able to sign Rogers after concerns about his attitude were resolved through his work with Emery. Now, the experienced former scout, who spent over a decade at Manchester United during their most successful period, explained that Villa have been impressed by Rogers’ contributions.

“They’re very keen to tie him down to a big new deal,” he told Football Insider. “He offers something they don’t have elsewhere because he can carry the ball from box to box and drive the team forward. He can take on players and is a real threat from the middle.

“Sometimes I worry about Villa because they seem a bit one-paced, but he’s different. He’s become a big asset under Emery, and he’s crucial to that team.

“When I was at Villa, we had a fairly average squad, but we had Jack Grealish, who could drag us up the pitch and turn defence into attack on his own. It’s so hard to find a player like that, someone willing to pick up the ball and move it forward.

“That kind of player takes so much pressure off the other players, and having someone who can drive forward and create opportunities in the final third is invaluable. That’s what Rogers has brought to the team—maybe not quite at the same level as Grealish, but he’s vital to their energy and their ability to transition from

defence to attack.”
