Aston Villa trying to sign EFL goal machine; £30m will secure deal

According to Football Insider, Aston Villa is keeping close watch on Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville.

Summerville is anticipated to quit Elland Road this summer if the Whites do not secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old striker is valued at more than £30 million after winning the Championship Player of the Year award on April 14.

Villa have been intensively scouting the highly sought-after Dutch winger this season, with a view to signing him this summer.

The crafty winger has earned far more attention than his colleagues this season, with 20 goals and 10 assists in 44 games.

The Dutchman’s two goals in the Whites’ 4-3 win against Middlesbrough on April 22 helped his team return to the Championship automatic promotion places.

Football Insider reported earlier this month that Elland Road officials are aiming to lock him down to a new contract.

That is only likely if Daniel Farke’s side wins promotion this season, as they are only one point clear of third-placed Ipswich Town, who have a game in hand.

Villa will be hoping the West Yorkshire club fails in their attempts to return to the top flight, which might increase their chances of signing Summerville.

Unai Emery’s team are a tremendously appealing offer at the moment, with Champions League football a definite possibility at Villa Park next season.
