JAKE Bidwell hopes Coventry City can build some momentum following their impressive 3-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers.
The defender opened the scoring at the Coventry Building Society Arena before Haji Wrigh and Brandon Thomas-Asante both struck, as the Sky Blues also recorded their first clean sheet of the campaign. Bidwell insists the win must act as a platform from which they can build after a tough start to the season.
Bidwell said: “We spoke about these two home games. We want to build up the momentum, but then there is a little break, so it gets broken a bit.
“Confidence is low for us at the minute, and nothing breeds confidence like winning, so it was very important for us.
“Without the ball, that was probably the best we have been. That needs to be the platform for us to kick on. We have played better with the ball in other games.
“We will look back on it; obviously, there are still things we can do better and improve on, but from an intensity point of view, we have set the standards now.”
Coventry are next in action against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, October 5, with kick-off at 3pm at the CBS Arena.
