John Eustace was tight-lipped when providing an injury update on three of his Blackburn Rovers players ahead of their trip to face his former club, Coventry City. The former Sky Blues midfielder and captain has guided Rovers to an unbeaten start in the Championship, with seven matches played. They have won all four home games at Ewood Park and drawn all their away fixtures.
Ahead of Tuesday night’s match at the CBS Arena, Eustace was set to assess the fitness of Harry Pickering and Arnor Sigurdsson, while Callum Brittain might be rested until after the international break. Pickering was substituted at halftime on Saturday due to illness, and Sigurdsson has missed the last three matches for the same reason.
Brittain, sidelined since the Burnley match with a knee injury, may not return until after the break. Eustace commented on the situation, saying, “I haven’t seen the players yet, so we’ll see how they report this morning.”
Pickering, despite his illness, managed to play 45 minutes in the previous game. Eustace praised his determination and the mentality of the squad, noting that all the players want to contribute to the team’s success.
