Former Blackpool, QPR and Millwall boss Ian Holloway makes surprise managerial return

Ian Holloway has made his return to football management as the new manager of Swindon Town in League Two, following the sacking of Mark Kennedy. The 61-year-old, who last managed Grimsby in 2020, has signed a contract until the end of the season, with his first match scheduled against Gillingham.

Holloway expressed excitement about the opportunity, highlighting his familiarity with Swindon and his desire to foster a positive environment for success. This marks his tenth managerial role, adding to a career that includes successful tenures at clubs like Blackpool and Crystal Palace, where he led teams to promotion to the Premier League. Holloway aims to rejuvenate Swindon, who currently sit third from bottom in the league with just two wins from 13 games.
