Jose Mourinho Discusses Premier League Return Amid Everton Manager Links

Jose Mourinho, currently managing Turkish side Fenerbahce, has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League, sparking speculation about a potential move to Everton. Mourinho, a legendary figure in football with eight league titles across stints at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid, along with two Champions League trophies, is linked with a move back to England.

Currently preparing Fenerbahce for a Europa League clash against Manchester United, Mourinho reflected on his past tenure at Old Trafford, where he led the team to Europa League and EFL Cup victories before being dismissed in 2018. He also had a brief spell at Tottenham Hotspur, leaving in 2021, and has since been outside the Premier League.

With Everton’s current manager Sean Dyche’s contract set to expire, rumors of Mourinho taking over have intensified, especially given his connection to The Friedkin Group (TFG), prospective new owners of Everton. Mourinho previously worked with TFG during his time at AS Roma, leading them to a Europa Conference League title before his dismissal in January 2024.

Speaking ahead of the match against Manchester United, Mourinho hinted at his future aspirations: “They have a better team than the results show. Hopefully, they will succeed before I return to the Premier League and face them as opponents once again.”

Mourinho’s comments have fueled excitement over his potential return to England, where his legacy remains significant in Premier League history.
