Sheffield Wednesday to add quality ranks eye’s 26 y/o star player…

Sheffield Wednesday are contemplating the possibility of acquiring Ovie Ejaria, a player who departed Reading last winter, as reported by The Star. The club, under the management of Danny Rohl, assessed Ejaria as a free agent during the latter part of the previous season, successfully securing their Championship status. Now, they are gearing up for another campaign in the second tier and are exploring options to enhance their squad’s quality.

Ejaria, aged 26, became available after parting ways with League One side Reading in December of the previous year. Over the past few months, he has been evaluating his potential moves. Having previously represented England at youth levels, including Under-20 and Under-21, Ejaria has amassed 174 appearances and scored 12 goals throughout his career. Despite having a trial at Plymouth Argyle in January, as reported by Workingham Today, he remains without a club.

Sheffield Wednesday perceives Ejaria as a potential addition to their squad, providing competition and depth. Having been out of the game for more than six months, Ejaria is seeking a new club ahead of the upcoming season.

Should he join Sheffield Wednesday, he would be joining a team brimming with confidence following their successful campaign under Rohl’s guidance. Ejaria began his journey in Arsenal’s youth academy before transferring to Liverpool in 2014. During his time at Liverpool, he made eight appearances for the first team and underwent loan spells at Sunderland, Rangers, and Reading to gain experience. He eventually signed permanently with Reading in 2020 after a successful loan spell, contributing significantly to their matches.

Despite his efforts, Ejaria couldn’t prevent Reading’s relegation to the third tier last season. Subsequently, he remained with the club for the first half of the current season before his contract was terminated last winter, prompting him to explore new opportunities. Following Plymouth Argyle’s interest in January, Sheffield Wednesday has emerged as the latest contender for his signature.
